Sometimes I really wonder why our Mighty God ever create pimples in this world. Pimples are purely useless. Not only that it is of
any use, but it makes us appear uglier then others.
For the past 3 mths, I had this whiteheads attack on my forehead and left cheek Tho started out about 5 to 6 tiny dots, I thought I should
do some facials to make my skin condition better, and hopefully more radiant.
So I went to this nearby Dermalogica salon at my hometown. The reason why I choose the latter is simple - for its high end products, good
reviews, and above all, my fren is a beautician there. If I wanna risk my face with someone I dun know, might as well let my fren to do it
for me. Who knows, I might get more discounts =) Sounds great, rite?
Hell NO!
I was entitled for the normal 5% discount rate, of coz, but it is still far more expensive considering the fact that 15-20% discount given
if I were to purchase online. Authentic, juz incase you're asking. But that's not my point here.
My point is, my face got worse after those facials! From a few dots here and there, it multiply till my foreheads were all bumps and lumps. You
could hardly find any smooth skin around my forehead. Zits and pimples started to pop out like nobody's business. Hyperpigmentation can be
found everywhere on my face due to the harsh extraction.
Horrors of horrors!!
OK, I might be over exagerating, but hell, I went for those facials becoz I wanted my skin to get better! Under any circumstances, if those facials
couldn't help, at least dun make it worse for god's sake! Luckily, I called it off after my 2nd treatment.
I am not saying that Dermalogica's products aren't good. It juz so happens that the beautician skills are "not that good" (Sorry dear, but I hope it
won't jeopardise our friendship. You're still my good fren :: hugs ::) Ironically, the beauticians, even the taukeh soh herself appear to be more moh peng
then me I tell you! Scars and pitholes everywhere on their faces. I guess their hobbies gotto be pricking on their pimples. Carolyn was rite, you are
your best advertisement. So how could you blame me for not having faith in your salon?
In the end, I lost about RM800 cash and got myself an uglier face. Yeah, s h ! t happens.
After the facial lesson, I have to admit I had my doubts when I came across this Cellnique best-selling product - Skin Action Sebum Gel. The gel
is for removing blackheads and whiteheads without any pain, minimizing pore size, and also reducing facial oil.
I google everything about this product and read all reviews. The good thing is, almost everyone claimed it is a miraculous product. However the
downside of the sebum gel is that it dries up your face. And once you use, you cannot stop, else the whiteheads and blackheads will be back! Sounds
scary huh? Well at least that's wat i heard.
Apparently the brand has two series, Paramedical and Pro-Series. Paramedical (Skin Action Sebum Gel) are only sold exclusively by Cellnique
Professional salons, whereas the Pro-Series (Pro Sebum Gel) are available at selected drugstores and pharmachies. Eg : Watsons, Guardians, Sasa
The difference between the two is that the Paramedical is of higher dosage of ingrediants, and thus should only be used with professional advise.
After knowing the pro and cons, (and with my desperate condition) I decided to give it a try. So I called up the nearest Cellnique professional salon
at Tmn Usahaniaga and arrange for an appontment. The lady owner, Angie, has super great skin I tell you! She is about 30+ years old, but her skin
looks so much younger then mine. Radiant and flawless!
Look at all her certificates...
Paramedical Skin Action Sebum Gel at RM139.
Top up another RM29.90 to get IS'U pack (Derma Brightener and Total Daytime Protection SPF25)
I confronted Angie with my doubts and the lady explains everything about the gel. According to her, the sebum gel can be apply on the whole face
for the 1st week. After that, apply directly on areas infected with whiteheads and blackheads. When your face are clear, use it once or twice a week to
maintain. The reason why we should not use it daily is becoz this gel is kinda drying and your skin might get immune to it. So basically, too much
of a good thing is bad.
I have been using the sebum gel for 2 weeks now and I see visible reduction of whiteheads and blackheads. However, I doubt I could ever get
my smooth complexion back again :: sad :: Keeping my finger crossed and hope for the best. But at this point, my main concern will be how will my
skin react when I stop using it?
Will update you guyz in future. Please wish me best of luck!!
